Hope

"Perhaps the greatest psychological, spiritual, and medical need that all people have is the need for hope."

Billy Graham

Hope is vital to one's well being to give them strength, purpose and reason to press forward and pursue their goals, and to have joy in living. When hope begins to fail, it can become difficult to find the desire to do much more than survive. Although people find joy and purpose in many ways, including pursuing endeavors that align with their talents or serving others for the greater good, too many people may have never had a sense of purpose or have lost their purpose due to setbacks, circumstances, or poor choices. For people in desperate circumstances such as poverty, broken homes, and broken relationships, hope and purpose may have become distant memories.

We are convinced that lasting hope is found in a relationship with our heavenly Father through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus, restoration is provided with the Father, who offers hope, value, purpose and guidance.

Scriptures in the Bible that offer hope for this life...

  • Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  • I Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

  • Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

  • Isaiah 40:31 But they who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint.

What gives us Hope

  • That the Creator of all things loves His creation, especially each of us.

  • That he expressed this love by sending His son, Jesus, that we could hear and learn about his love for us, and so that Jesus could make a way for us to know the Father and have a relationship with Him.

  • That His Holy Spirit resides among us and desires to reveal the love of the Father and to guide us into all truth.

  • This His angelic beings are present to minister to and guard his children.

What we believe about the love of God and the Hope found in him

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit have always been and created men and women in His image to be in relationship with Him. As foretold and promised in the Bible, the Father sent his son to live among us to reveal the love of the Father and provide a way to know Him through Jesus's death on the cross, where he took upon himself the sins of every person. Jesus died but was resurrected on the third day and walked again on the earth before ascending to heaven where He resides with the Father. Jesus's death and resurrection provides the way to be in perfect relationship with the Father when we are reborn by believing in our heart that Jesus was raised from the dead and by declaring Jesus through our witness as His disciple. The Holy Spirit resides within all people who have received Jesus and believe in His name, and is present to reveal the love of the Father to us, to guide us in all truth and in the decisions of life, and to help us live a complete and satisfying life. The Bible is without error and is trustworthy and reliable for revealing the character and ways of God, and for guiding men and women with the decisions needed to live a fulfilling and victorious life. After our life is over on earth, life for eternity with God is available by accepting the gift made available by Jesus's sacrifice on the cross. God's love for us is constant, His ways are perfect, His patience with us is endless, and He's always ready to give us His joy, peace and HOPE!
